Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) Advisory Committee
The goals of the RAPP Advisory and RAPP as a program include, among others:
- Children residing in kinship families will maintain or show improvement in school engagement as evidenced by meeting or exceeding educational expectations at an age-expected grade level.
- Children residing in kinship families will maintain or show improvement in peer relations as evidenced by how well the child gets along with other children his/her age as reported by the youth and/or caregiver.
- Relative caregivers will increase skills and knowledge in parenting, stages of youth developmental, communication between generations, mental health resources and legal issues.
- Relative caregivers and the youth in their care will develop a sense of belonging to a larger group.
- Relative caregivers will increase their knowledge and skills in parenting, legal and mental health areas.
- Relative caregivers will learn about resources available in the community.
