CCEDC is commemorating Cooperative Extension's 100th anniversary of work in NYS with a series of events, and a Centennial Giving Campaign. In addition to looking back, we are also taking this occasion to look forward, emphasizing the future initiatives that will shape our next 100 years.
It began with a simple, practical, brilliant idea to connect the knowledge, resources, and research of Cornell University with the people of New York State. To help them tackle challenges. Take care of their families. Build businesses. And improve communities. All while working collaboratively, for a greater good.
As we look ahead to the next decade, and decades after, CCE sees new challenges—energy independence, sustainable agriculture, childhood obesity, and fostering youth, family and community programs—and we are ready to take them on. With our focus on future initiatives, and a strong connection to our proud past, we will continue to carry One Great Idea into a new century.
As we near the century mark for Cornell Cooperative Extension, we invite everyone in our “extended” community to reminisce … celebrate … and share! Visit our Facebook page (Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County) to learn how to connect and share your experiences. We’d love to hear them!

CCE at 100: Approximately 100 years later, this One Great Idea is burning brighter than ever. Each year, more than 10 million people throughout New York State participate in extension workshops, seminars, meetings, and tours, or request specific help or advice from Extension personnel.
